The Annamalaiyar temple, also known as Arunachaleswarar temple, is one of the largest Shiva temples in India and represents the fire (Agni) element.

History

With a history spanning over a millennium, the temple saw contributions from Chola and Vijayanagara rulers. The main deity is worshipped as Arunachaleshwarar.
